DO only present future results as compared to the historical simulation for the same global climate model

Why

Even the best models have biases. It is, therefore, more robust to understand the impact of a change (e.g., increased emissions) in a relative sense. This can be done by comparing future change simulations with historical simulations from the same model.

This DO will provide details and examples of appropriate and inappropriate comparisons of future change.
